Lord Strathclyde

Lord Strathclyde serves as a governor at Wellington College, Berkshire, and is a prominent British Conservative politician. His illustrious career spans several decades, during which he held various esteemed ministerial positions. Notably, he served as a Cabinet Minister in David Cameron's government, assuming the roles of Leader of the House of Lords and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster from 2010 to 2013. Prior to this, he held pivotal roles such as Government Chief Whip, Minister of State for Small Firms at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and spokesperson for the Treasury, demonstrating his profound commitment to public service. At present, Lord Strathclyde continues to contribute significantly to various Non-Executive Directorships, Chairmanships, and senior advisory positions. His roles include Chairman of Raytheon UK, Non-Executive Director of Hampden Agencies Ltd, a Lloyd's-based company, Non-Executive Director of Galena Asset Management SA, and Chairman Adviser to Battersea Power Station Development Co. Additionally, he serves as the UK adviser to the Board of Ferrero. Notably, he chaired Bank and Clients Plc from 2016 to 2021 and acted as an adviser to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) from 2014 to 2018, as well as AECOM from 2013 to 2018. Furthermore, he holds the position of Chairman Trustee of the Battersea Power Station Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to philanthropic initiatives in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Lambeth. Lord Strathclyde's career also boasts an array of significant roles within the financial services sector. His past positions include Director at Trafigura Beheer BV from 2013 to 2016, Non-Executive Director of Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust from 2004 to 2010, Non-Executive Director at Marketform Group, a Lloyd's-based insurance company, from 2003 to 2010, Chairman of Trafalgar Capital Management, Ltd from 2001 to 2010, Non-Executive Director at Hampden Agencies, the Lloyd’s of London members agency, from 2007 to 2010, and Associate Director at Lloyd's Insurance Broker Bain Clarkson (now Aon) from 1982 to 1988. In addition to his distinguished professional endeavours, Lord Strathclyde is deeply committed to various pro bono causes. He actively supports organizations such as the St Andrew's Youth Club and the Centre for Policy Studies. Furthermore, he serves as a Governor at Wellington College, demonstrating his dedication to education and community welfare.

At present, Segun serves on the board of various blue-chip companies as Chairman and Director, some of which include Oladiran Engineering and Trade Nigeria Limited and Petrolex Oil & Gas Limited – an innovative diversified energy services organisation providing value added services in supply and distribution of petroleum products, used oil recovery, fleet/fuel management services and shipping and logistics.

He has dedicated his extensive knowledge of the industry towards its development, playing a huge role in its advancement, the most notable being his investment in a Mega Oil City which will house the second largest refinery & largest petroleum product depot in Africa.

Segun Adebutu is the founder, financier and chairman of Oladiran Olusegun Adebutu (OOA) Foundation, a not-for-profit and non-political organisation, which was formally launched on Saturday, October 22 2016 at Abeokuta, Ogun State, South West Nigeria.

The foundation is committed to supporting orphans and vulnerable children to access "quality education, primary healthcare, nutrition as well as social and economic welfare." The foundation whose mantra is 'Leave No Child Behind’ adopted 300 internally displaced children, and has been responsible for their upkeep including education, feeding, housing and health. He is the Chairman of Bluebridge Marine, Oladiran Agro-Allied Company and a music record label, named Baseline Records.
